For something a little different...
My husband and I tried this place last week. It is wonderful! Great for a romantic date or just a nice, low key dinner with family or friends when you want to try a unique dining experience. They serve traditional Ethiopian fare in the traditional Ethiopain manner. When you order, they will bring all the food out in one communal platter so that everyone shares from one plate. They have no untensils. Everything is eaten with the fingers or using a flat bread, called injera, that resembles a crepe in appearance but has a tangy flavor to it. We ordered a veggie combo plate and a meat combo plate just so we could sample a bit of everything. The flavors ranged from slightly sweet, to mild and flavorful to somewhat spicy. It ended up being a ton of food and we took quite a bit home with us to enjoy the next evening. The restaurant is fairly quiet and not very big, which adds to its ambiance. You can choose from normal table and chair seating or a more traditional seating with various types of little stools. They have a nice selection of beers and wines to choose from. I tried an Ethiopian Honey Wine. It was very similar to mead, but had more of a tangy, fermented taste that went very nicely with the food. They serve it in a little bottle with a wide body, but a thin neck. You get a decent sized pour, but the thin neck and small opening of the bottle promote sipping and enjoying the wine at a slow pace. My husband tried and Ethiopian beer which was very smooth and refreshing. All in all, a wonderful dining experience. We will definately be going there again.
